SAGE is a free Custom GPT that walks you through a discovery conversation, helps you understand what drives you, then turns that same chat into a practical alignment coach. Start with the discovery. When it finishes, paste Prompt 1 into that same SAGE chat.
Neither I nor anyone on my team can view your conversations with SAGE. GPT builders do not have access to individual chats or anything you share inside them. Your conversation is connected to your own ChatGPT account, not mine.
How to use it
Two steps to get started today.
Everything happens inside the SAGE Custom GPT. Open SAGE, complete discovery, then paste Prompt 1 into that same completed discovery chat.
1
Step one
Complete the SAGE Discovery.
Open the free SAGE GPT and go through the discovery conversation. SAGE will give you simple answer choices, and those work, but it works better when you explain your answers in your own words. If none of the choices fit, tell it why and describe what does fit. Talk to it naturally, like you are explaining yourself to a person. The more honest context you give it, the better it can understand you.
Voice-to-text works especially well here because you can just hit the button and talk through your answers instead of trying to make them short or perfect.
You can pause anytime. Discovery does not have to happen in one sitting. Do part of it, come back to that same SAGE conversation later, and pick up where you left off.
After discovery is complete, copy Prompt 1 below and paste it into the completed discovery chat. SAGE will turn what it learned into a practical plan and continue as your coach.
Using everything you learned about me
during this Discovery conversation,
help me turn that understanding
into a practical action plan.

The two prompts you need.
Prompt 1 is part of getting started today. Prompt 2 is only for later, when your SAGE coaching conversation starts getting slow.
Prompt 1
Turn SAGE into your Alignment Coach
Paste this into the same SAGE GPT chat after your discovery is complete.
Using everything you learned about me during this Discovery conversation, help me turn that understanding into a practical action plan.
First, identify the areas of my life that appear most misaligned, neglected, threatened, or capable of meaningful improvement.
Separate:
1. What is already working and should be protected
2. What needs a limited correction
3. What may require a more serious change
Then recommend no more than three priorities.
For each priority, give me:
* the specific outcome
* why it matters based on what you learned about me
* what must be protected while I work on it
* the first concrete action
* the actions I should take over the next seven days
* the likely resistance or avoidance pattern
* how you should hold me accountable
* what progress will look like
* when we should review or revise the plan
Do not give me generic self-improvement advice.
Do not ask vague questions such as what would make my life meaningful or what I feel called to do.
Use the evidence already gathered during Discovery.
When important information is missing, ask only the specific questions required to build an accurate plan.
Build the plan collaboratively, but make clear recommendations rather than making me design the entire plan myself.
After the plan is agreed upon, continue working with me in this conversation as my SAGE coach. Help me plan, make decisions, take action, review progress, recover from setbacks, and revise the plan when necessary.
Prompt 2
Create a handoff for a fresh SAGE chat
Use this in your current SAGE GPT coaching chat when responses start getting slow. Copy the handoff it creates, open a fresh SAGE GPT conversation, and paste the handoff there.
Create a complete and updated SAGE handoff document that I can paste into a new conversation inside this same SAGE Custom GPT.
The new conversation will not have access to this conversation, so the handoff must preserve everything it needs to continue coaching me accurately.
This is not merely a summary of the last few messages or the current week.
Build one integrated, self-contained handoff using:
* the original Discovery understanding
* any previous handoff pasted into this conversation
* everything learned since that handoff
* my corrections
* my history and important background
* my values and deeper drivers
* my archetypal patterns
* my decision-making patterns
* my communication preferences
* my relationships and responsibilities
* what I want protected
* my current circumstances
* agreed priorities
* plans and action items
* progress
* decisions
* successes
* setbacks
* repeated avoidance
* completed items
* abandoned or replaced goals
* experiments and what they taught us
* unresolved issues
* the exact next actions that should continue in the new conversation
Do not remove stable and important information simply because it was not discussed recently.
Do not treat one unusual day, temporary emotion, or isolated event as a permanent change.
When recent behavior provides strong evidence that an earlier understanding was incomplete or wrong, update it and explain what changed.
The handoff must use this structure:
# SAGE Coaching Handoff
## Immediate Continuation Brief
State:
* what is most important right now
* what is currently in progress
* what requires follow-up
* the next concrete action
* what should not be reopened or repeated
## Person and Life Context
Preserve the important personal history, family context, relationships, work, lifestyle, responsibilities, constraints, and circumstances that affect coaching.
## Core Operating Model
Explain how I think and operate, including:
* leading archetypal patterns
* deeper drivers
* my demonstrated values
* value hierarchy
* decision rules
* relationship with freedom, responsibility, control, risk, and uncertainty
* important differences across work, family, relationships, health, and lifestyle
Do not use generic archetype definitions. Explain how the patterns specifically appear in me.
## Communication and Coaching Preferences
Document:
* preferred tone
* preferred directness
* preferred response length
* how I respond to questions
* how I respond to recommendations
* effective accountability
* ineffective accountability
* what feels generic, patronizing, artificial, or irritating
* how to handle blunt language or profanity
* when to challenge me
* when to make a direct recommendation
## Strengths to Use
Document the strengths that should be actively used when helping me plan, decide, act, or recover.
## Blind Spots and Resistance Patterns
Document only evidence-supported patterns, including:
* how they appear
* what they grow from
* what they tend to cost
* how they should be raised with me
* what response is likely to work
## Protected Areas
Clearly state what future plans and recommendations should protect.
## Current Circumstances
Explain the reality of my life at the time this handoff is created, including relevant work, family, relationships, health, finances, travel, schedule, obligations, limitations, and recent changes.
## Active Priorities and Plans
For every active priority include:
* objective
* why it matters
* current status
* actions already taken
* progress
* obstacles
* resistance
* what must be protected
* exact next actions
* success criteria
* review point
* conditions that would justify changing the plan
Classify every previous priority as:
* Active
* Completed
* Paused
* Abandoned
* Replaced
* No longer relevant
Do not carry an old priority forward automatically.
## Recent Progress and Events
Include the events, actions, outcomes, and decisions from this conversation that have continuing value.
Do not create a daily transcript.
## What Changed
Separate:
* confirmed changes
* emerging patterns
* corrected assumptions
* stable patterns
* temporary circumstances
## Completed or Closed Items
List issues, tasks, decisions, and goals that should not be repeatedly reopened unless new information appears.
## Unresolved Issues
For each unresolved issue include:
* what is known
* what is uncertain
* why it matters
* whether action is required
* what evidence would clarify it
## Exact Next Actions
Give a prioritized list of the concrete actions that should continue in the new conversation.
Do not use vague actions such as make progress, focus on health, or work on the business.
## Instructions to the Next SAGE Conversation
End the handoff with these instructions:
Use this handoff as the complete working context for this conversation.
Do not summarize, critique, or explain the handoff.
Do not repeat the original Discovery.
Do not ask me to restate information already included here.
Preserve stable understanding while remaining open to correction and new evidence.
Continue the active plans and follow up on the documented next actions.
When I ask for help, prioritize concrete decisions, recommendations, plans, and action items over generic reflective questions.
If I paste only this handoff without an additional message, briefly confirm that the context has been loaded, state the current highest-priority next action from the handoff, and ask whether I want to begin there or whether something has changed.
When this conversation becomes too long, use this same process to create a new complete handoff.
Output one complete handoff document inside a single code block.
Do not include any explanation before or after the code block.
Feedback helps
Tell us how SAGE worked for you.
We do not capture what happens once you start using SAGE in ChatGPT. We do not know whether it worked, broke, felt glitchy, or helped beyond our own testing unless someone comes back and tells us.
If something feels broken, confusing, or worth improving, leave a note here and we will make corrections as needed. If it works well, that is helpful to hear too. This box does not ask for your name or email. It only saves the feedback you type.
Important note
SAGE is a reflection tool.
SAGE is not therapy, medical advice, mental health treatment, or a replacement for professional support. It is a free self-reflection and alignment tool.
